Elbrus, the highest peak in Europe has 5,642 meters and it is part of the world-renowned Seven Summits.

This extinct volcano is a beautiful challenge and a good introduction to high altitude and mountaineering skills. The most achievable route is the South face, which is the one we will climb.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Mineralyne Vody

Land in Mineralnye Vody and transfer to the Hotel in Baksan Valley- Terksol (about three hour’s drive)

After a late-night arrival from the UAE, catch some sleep at the hotel to prepare yourself for the following day.

Day 2: Hike to Cheget Peak

After breakfast at the hotel, we will do an acclimatization trek to Cheget Peak (3460m), which will take 4-5 hours.

After some rest, we will have a briefing with the guide, a mountaineering gear check, and go to the rental place, if necessary, to collect your equipment.

You can then relax around Terskol town, a popular ski destination.

Day 3: Hike to Terskol Peak and Obervatory

Today we hike up to Terskol Peak and the astronomical Observatory (3090m) to adjust our bodies to high altitudes.

We will start in a pleasant forest before walking up to a beautiful waterfall where you can revive yourself. Bring your swimwear for a refreshing dip.

In the afternoon, we will prepare the bags to head up and leave the hotel the next day.

Day 4: Ascent to High Camp

We will take the cable car to the lift station to reach our huts at 3800 m. We will find some snow and the landscapes will become even more beautiful.

After lunch, we will put our crampons on and head to Priyut Eleven Hut for an acclimatization hike (4100m)

Day 5: Hike to the Pastukhova Rocks

An exciting day ahead with an acclimatization hike to the Pastukhova Rocks (4800), as well as snow & ice technics training and a self-arrest course for those who need it.

We will rest in the huts, prepare gear, and have an early night to prepare for the summit push

Day 6: Summit Day

After a very early breakfast at 2 am, the group will be picked up by a snowcat and be taken to start the summit attempt at 4800m.

Reaching the summit will take around 6 hours.  You can expect low temperatures, fixed ropes in steep areas, and an unforgettable sunrise.

We will descend to the huts to pack our bags and take the lift to Terskol where we can celebrate.

Day 7: Reserved

In case of bad weather, a day is reserved to ensure more chances to summit.

Day 8: Departure

Morning transfer to Mineralnye Vody. Option at extra cost to visit the Hot Springs.

Transfer to the airport and end of the trip.

  • Hotel Accommodation in Terskol: 5 nights in a bed and breakfast in a double room. 2 nights in shared mountain huts (share with the group)
